Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a futuristic concept—it is a transformative force shaping the present and redefining the future. From revolutionizing business processes and accelerating scientific discovery to influencing media, design, education, healthcare, governance, and human interaction, AI is now embedded in nearly every facet of modern life.
Historically, AI education has been primarily rooted in engineering and computer science disciplines, focusing on algorithmic development, software engineering, and technical proficiency. However, the application of AI now transcends technical boundaries—playing a critical role in management, healthcare, psychology, law, behavioral sciences, economics, design, and beyond.
This evolution calls for a dual-pronged approach to AI education: one that continues to build technical excellence among engineering students, while also enabling non-engineering students to harness AI within their specific disciplines. In India, most formal AI programmes are offered through engineering institutions, often limiting access and excluding the rich interdisciplinary potential of AI education.
Symbiosis International (Deemed University) identifies a unique opportunity to address this gap by launching the Symbiosis Artificial Intelligence Institute (SAII)—a pioneering academic institute that offers AI education for non-engineering learners ( later for engineering as well).
Offer undergraduate programmes in core and applied AI fields, and selected programmes for non-engineering domains.
Provide robust training in computational thinking, software development, machine learning, and data analytics.
Promote ethical, inclusive, and creative exploration of AI tools and their societal implications.
